Rev. Fr. Sixtus Pandippilly of St. Joseph was born on 21/7/1934Vavakad, Chettikad, Kerala. He entered Manjummel Province of the Discalced Carmelite Order in 1957. He made his First Profession on 19-03-1959 at Novitiate House, Podannur, Tamil Nadu. His Solemn Profession was on 19-03-1962 at Manjummel and was ordained priest on 14-03-1966, at St. Joseph’s Mangalapuzha Seminary, Kerala.

Fr. Sixtus will always be known as a great missionary of our Manalikarai Mission in Tamil Nadu. Even though his first appointment was at our Holy Family Monastery, Perumpadappu, on the very year of his ordination he left for Manalikarai as a missionary. There he spent almost 10 years serving in different parishes of Madurai Diocese and Podanur. He was then appointed at Mumbai, Where he served the community and parish for almost 8 years. Manalikarai mission was in need of his service again, and he was appointed as a Parish Priest and Superior at Podanur from 1983-1988. And moved again to Mumbai as the superior from 1988-1990 and also as the Tamil Chaplin in our Parish. 1999-2005 he was at our novitiate in Annamanada as conventual and later as superior. After serving another term in Mumbai, he spent rest of his years in our Prayer house at Kothagiri, rendering his service to different nearby Tamil Parishes and convents. His esteemed selfless service to the Tamil flock is always remembered with gratitude. He breathed his last on 08-01-2021, at our St. Joseph’s Hospital due to cardiac arrest.
