silver jubilee of Ish Bhavana, Delhi

The silver jubilee (1993-2018) of Ish Bhavana, the Cloister Carmel at Okhla, New Delhi, was celebrated with great elation on 03 April 2018. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by His Grace Anil J.T. Couto, Archbishop of Delhi, con-celebrated by His Grace Vincent Concessao, Archbishop Emeritus of Delhi and around forty priests of the diocese and religious congregations. Many religious, laity, benefactors and well-wishers also attended the celebrations.

The Secular Carmel (OCDS) was officially inaugurated during the celebration. Rev. Fr. Varghese Cheriyakadavil OCD, gave a brief note on the history, charism, and functions of OCDS and introduced the members of the unit. His Grace Anil presented them with the holy Scapular and gave his paternal blessings to them. The unit has twelve members now.

The Archbishop edified the guest during homily on the importance of prayer in the life and growth of the faithful. He gratefully reflected the spiritual contribution of Carmelites in growth and well-being of the Church in Delhi.

After the Eucharistic celebration and the wishing, the fraternal meal was served at Carmel Niwas.

We thank the Almighty for the grace He abundantly showered upon us over the past years and submit ourselves under His protection and Providence.
